2025 Sunfish Port A to Rockport Harbor Distance Race

The 2025 Port A to Rockport Harbor Sunfish Race is officially in the bag. What a day as the wind shifted, waned and gusted to bring most finishers finally into the Rockport Harbor. Over 20 boats entered and only 14 finished. There was a little bit of damage done but all sailors were safe and there were no injuries.

The Award Ceremony followed after all of the boats had finished and a full BBQ meal from the "Shack's" Smokehouse & Seafood was enjoyed by all. The awards went out to Guy Lindig / 1st place Youth and Overall Winner, Gerilyn Hibbler / 1st place Womens and to Josh Rubin / 1st place Mens.

Congratulations to all and a huge thank you to the Rockport Yacht Club for hosting the race.

2025 Clubhouse Repairs

Spring brought about some time to clean up and rebuild some of the club's areas such as the dock area. Some of the club members joined together for a few days of construction and replaced the dock facing to prepare for the 2025 sailing, boating and regatta season. Kudos to Bill Coxwell, Darrell Humphrey, Bill & Lolly Overton, Norm Roof, George Krapfel, Mike Gusler, Will Westbrook, Keith Whitted and Ed Lippe.

'Gilligan's Island". Decorating began at 08:30 in the morning and the parade was at 11:00 down Traylor Blvd and culminating at the fair grounds on Fulton Beach Road. Everyone had a great time and the Club and upcoming Nautical Flea Market got some great exposure to the public.
